Biography:

Shouliang Zhao, PhD, Paris Institute of Urban Planning, University of Paris East, France, is a national registered urban and rural planner. He is currently a professor at the School of Architecture and Urban Planning of Huazhong University of Science and Technology. His main research areas are land space governance, village and town planning and design, and planning policy analysis. At the same time, he is the deputy director of the Professional Committee of Land Rectification and Ecological Restoration of Hubei Land Space Planning Society, a member of the Hubei Expert Group of the Ministry of Housing and Construction's Rural Construction Evaluation Work, the deputy director of the Youth Specialized Committee of Hubei Historical Architecture Research Society, the executive director of the Hubei Association of Town and Village Construction, an expert of the Department of Natural Resources, an expert of the Office of Poverty Alleviation, and a lecturer of the "Beautiful Countryside Construction" tour of the Department of Housing and Construction of Hubei Province. Beautiful Countryside Construction" tour, member of Hubei Provincial Rural Construction Planning Committee, planning consultant of Yuyao City, Yueyang City, Huanggang City and Shennongjia Forest District. He is the chief editor of two "13th Five-Year Plan" teaching materials of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, and the recommended teaching materials of urban-rural planning in higher education, and has been approved as the "14th Five-Year Plan" teaching materials of the disciplines in the field of housing and urban-rural development. He has presided over or participated in many national and provincial research projects. He has published more than 20 academic papers in authoritative journals, such as Urban Planning, and has been awarded the Thesis Commendation by the China Society of Urban Planning for four times. He has presided over or participated in more than 80 planning and design projects, and has won many national and provincial excellent urban and rural planning and design awards.
